I’m 26 and I’m old
I’ve never felt older in my life, I just turned 26, actually I’ve never been older, duuh!! .. am I aging?? .. is that a white hair??
It’s been ages since I post here, I went through many changes though, one of them is losing the passion to share what’s going in my life .. I mean I used to share pretty much everything, specially major changes or moves.. places I visit, people I met or anything like that, now I just don’t feel that I need to share it, I just enjoy the moment and keep it in my mind.
I believe age has something to do with it, when I say I’m aging, I don’t mean that my hair is falling or I started to get wrinkles, what I mean here is that, you change, everyday, every year.. I look at myself in the last year and today and I compare, did I change for better?? .. I can see changes yeah, big ones actually, but are they good?? am I a better person now??
I’m writing today only because I think I owe some of you with an explanation for being away in the last few months, let me start with work, my friends from work would probably know what I’m talking about, I quit my job, and more actually, I quit technology.. I just watched my passion fade away.. it’s weird though, I’ve been involved in technology for the last 10 years now, and such passion doesn’t fade away that easy.. but it happened .. and I didn’t do anything to stop that, there was a part of me needed technology to go away.. not like the feeling of taking a break and come back, no, a feeling of let go!
One funny thing happened a while ago, it might helped me with looking for something different, the thing is that I’ve been asked a simple question: “Who is Baraah?” .. and like any answer, without hesitation, I said my name, work position and a short job description.. but I’ve been asked again: “No.. no .. Who is she?” … and the problem showed up here, my mind just froze and I literally had nothing in mind.. I wanted to know myself more than any other person, and I started doing it by asking people .. sadly, another problem showed up, nobody actually gave me the answer I was looking for, every answer had my job position and my passion for technology..
Do you know that one thing pops in your mind the moment you hear somebody’s name?? let me try to explain it by an example:
Whenever you hear the name Tom Cruise, you directly remember Mission Impossible.. right?
Or maybe (examples):
Newton : Apple
Shakespeare: Poetry
HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid : Number 1
Lady Gaga : freak
And so on, you have an image of every name you know in your mind and it pops up every time you hear the name.. try it with people you know personally, not celebrities, it will work too.
Now, the question was, what is it that pops in your mind when you hear “Baraah” ?? and the answers were like:
(Microsoft) , (SharePoint) , (Social Media) , (Marketing) , (Events) … and related words..
Now that is NOT the picture I want people to have in their minds about me.. I mean colleges can say that, but friends and close ones can give me better answers .. I needed something more meaningful, what do you think??
Then who am I now after quitting my job?? seriously??
That moment started my mission to get to know myself and actually create a better picture in everybody’s mind about who I really am .. and I think that it’s going well so far .. in fact, I found out that I’m fun to be around .. it’s like I’m meeting myself for the first time ![]()
What about you, do you really know who you are?? (Just a question) ![]()
Anyway, I thank everybody for the kind birthday wishes, messages and gifts! No matter how old we are, a nice birthday message or card can put a smile on our wrinkling faces

Windows Phone 8: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
I too switched to Lumia 920 (Yellow color), the most innovative phone in the world (so far), here are my own good, bads & uglys :
- Pure motion HD + Display
- It runs windows phone 8
- The outstanding camera
- Offline mode for Nokia maps
- Wireless charging
The Bad:
- Weight: Lumia 920 weights 185 grams, so it’s pretty heavy comparing to other phones. some may find this annoying, specially if you use it for a long time.
- If you have small hands, you may find it hard to use it by one hand, you need one to hold it and the other to use it.
The Ugly:
- So far this ugly thing happened once, suddenly my Lumia got frozen with a black screen, nothing showed up, no buttons worked, not even the power button.. Here is what you have to do to restart it: Press and hold the power button + volume down for 10 seconds.
You’re welcome!

24 things I’ve learned in 24 years
I’m celebrating my birthday with you by sharing some points I’ve learned in the past 24 years, most of them have been learned in the hard way, some are funny, others you may already knew or took less time to get them, but it took me 24 years to know them for sure:
- Traveling and meeting new people from everywhere feed the soul.
- Mom and dad are always right and they know what is the best for you, even if they don’t give you what you’re asking for.
- Sometimes, God answers your prayers in a way that you could have never foreseen.
- Everything is happening to you is for a good reason, even if it doesn’t make any sense.
- Always make sure to give yourself sometime, it refreshes your brain.
- You don’t have to be nervous on your first day at work, it will turn out to be like the others.
- Failure is the best yet the toughest teacher.
- “Always expect the unexpected” ~ S.A.
- You can learn many things from people you don’t even know.
- Health is the only thing that matters more than money.
- Just because you were raised to believe in some ideas, doesn’t mean they’re true.
- Your reputation could lead you to higher levels than you always planned to reach.
- Never judge anybody from the first meeting.
- Just because you share blood with family, doesn’t mean you are similar.
- Always SEARCH before asking any question.
- If you need them to change, you go first.
- Ellen DeGeneres is the funniest comedian ever.
- Just because you’re single, doesn’t mean you’re unhappy or a needy.
- To get over your bad day, always make someone else happy.
- Never run away from somebody who loves you the most just because you’re afraid, you’ll be in his place with someone else.
- Diamonds aren’t girl’s best friend, guys are!
- You can get the lights in anywhere u go by just being who you really are.
- Self confidence is the hottest part of you, if you don’t have that, you ain’t hot!
- Always thank people you like for being who they are.
